  • Leigh van Heerden, Occupational Therapist

    Leigh van Heerden, Occupational Therapist

Leigh is an experienced OT and Family Therapist who has been committed to providing neuro-developmentally informed and affirming therapy services to her clients for over 20 years. She is passionate about providing family-centred therapy that optimises the adolescent and/or adult's authentic self across all environments. Therapy sessions are relationship based because she believes that trust creates a safe place to explore issues of concern and she is confident that it is from this safe place that the best growth and healing can take place.

Leigh's interests include working alongside neurodivergent adolescents and adults, particularly those with a late diagnosis.

She also favours a collaborative approach with a family centred framework when she is working alongside parents to support their children. Leigh assists parent's to see the world through the lens and the heart of their child or children.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two children as well as her friends. She loves sport, spending time in nature and going to the beach.

Telehealth is also provided as an option for therapy sessions.
