TherapySPOT is an allied healthcare practice in Nedlands, Perth, Western Australia that offers Occupational Therapy and Psychotherapy.

What we do

In our clinic we provide occupational therapy and psychotherapy services; conveniently situated in a neighbourhood that is known as a healthcare hub. While our work is tailored to clients’ individual needs, our therapeutic approaches follow best practice in accordance with top international standards. We specialise in early intervention to achieve the best possible results.

Our work is closely aligned with Australian NDIS regulations; and clients who are self-managed or plan-managed are able to claim our services.

We value the unique strengths of young children who have social emotional and communication challenges. We not only support weaknesses but also focus on strengths; the unique talents and skilles that if fostered will enable them to be creative producers in society.

This is done through the 5 C’s:

Foundational Capacities for Development

Foundational Capacities for Development

Foundational capacities for development are the starting point for a successful therapeutic relationship.

  1. Ensuring the child and family feel Comfortable.

  2. Feel in Control

  3. We support developing Competencies

  4. Thereby growing self-Confidence

  5. The ability to Communicate with others

Our therapists have a playful side to them. They can shed their inhibitions, be silly and carefree but also very serious. We are able to talk about difficult subjects in a way that normalises them, e.g. uncomfortable feelings, embarrassing experiences and celebrate success by not applauding the person but praising the effort and their accomplishment.

We would like parents to feel and reach an acceptance of the uniqueness of their child. In the long term we would like to instill a sense of confidence in the child's ability to solve problems, communicate and share pleasure with others. Improved confidence and competence across environments e.g. home, school and on the playground is achievable through practice in a safe environment with a supportive professional therapist who can implement tried and tested strategies to achieve a range of goals. These would include fine motor skills, handwriting, participation in sports, sensory processing, attention and concentration, mental and emotional health, self-regulation of behaviour and completing tasks.

Let’s Work Together

We’re always looking for families who share our vision. We are comfortable working with children who have the most challenging individual differences that impact many different aspects of behaviour and life. Please get in touch and we will contact you about beginning the healing process.
